Legal Job Responsibilities
The ultimate responsibility for legal work is assumed by lawyers but they lawyers sometimes delegate some of their work to paralegals. Although paralegals are prohibited from carrying out any duty considered to be in the field of law such as giving legal advice, setting legal fees, and representing cases in court, they continue to assume new legal job responsibilities as the tasks of the lawyers increase.
One of the legal job responsibilities of paralegals is to help the lawyers prepare for closings, trials, hearings and corporate meetings. They might also assist in the investigations of the facts relating to the case and ensure all the relevant information gathered is used in the assigned cases. They analyze and organize the information and may sometimes write reports to the attorneys to help them determine how cases should be handled.
Thelegal job responsibilities of a paralegal differ according to the type of the organization they work in. They mostly work in offices and law libraries when they are not out looking for information and other duties. Although most paralegals work year round, some are temporarily employed when there is more work to relieve those already working from working excessive hours to meet the deadline and also to relieve the pressure.
