An Editor needs to process the reviews and then arrange the written materials, images, sound, video, or film with the objective of preparing it for final presentation.

The responsibilities involve widely depending upon the jobs of a newspaper editor, a magazine editor, or a film editor. An editor job description depends upon the level and field he or she is working in.

 

Editor Job Responsibilities

– An Editor works in a newspaper, magazine, publishing house, or a similar organization and handles the various projects widely.

– Responsible for producing the original copy of ideas with the objective of capturing the target audience’s attention.

– Works along with the creative team, and takes a client’s advertising brief.

– Gaining a proper understanding and knowledge of the product, target audience and the various competitor activities in the market.

– Responsible for exploring the different ideas and concepts for both the visual and verbal elements used in the creative team.

–  Involves in preparing the drafts for various initial options for the creative director.

– Handling the activities of the production phase and the various activities which involves; booking and working with the designers, illustrators, printers, photographers and production companies.

– Attending and holding meetings with the account executives and during this time the client’s requirements and core messages are discussed.
