A telecommunications technician is an employee of a telecom company or government telecom agency who is responsible for the tasks such as installing data, installing devices such as cable televisions, high speed internet connection, Dish antennas etc. He is also appointed to install phone services to residential complexes and also for commercial business centres. - A telecommunications technician handles all installing and wiring works for clients as and when ordered or requested. He is responsible for installing all telecom related equipments and devices in residential blocks and commercial buildings either on contract basis or payment per installing basis.
- A telecommunications technician also works for repair and maintenance of the telecom equipments and devices as and when requested or ordered.
- A telecommunications technician is responsible for troubleshooting cell phone and satellite television service.
- Telecommunications technicians are responsible for working in such a manner that none of the clients are harmed or exposed to hazardous connections or open wires. They are responsible for the safety of their clients and must fix any such dangerous situations if reported.
- A telecommunications technician is responsible for making a log of the orders done per day and reporting it to the telecom manager or assistant each day.
