Private equity in the finance world refers to the equity (shares/ securities) investments in private firms i.e. the companies/ firms that are not publicly traded on a stock exchange. A private equity analyst may be hired by a number of business organizations such as a private equity firm, a venture capitalist firm or an angel investor etc.

These analysts are professionals who provide assistance in the investments prospects of the respective organization.
