Forklift Driver Job Responsibilities
A forklift is an industrial power truck which is used to transport, manage, stack and move the materials or the merchandise for the respective firm. These trucks are operated by individuals who are employed for the sole purpose of managing these machines because they are a type of equipment with varying features.
The responsibilities of the forklift drivers are thus different from the drivers for a car or a delivery driver. There also varied type of these trucks that basically differ in their features. A list of the responsibilities of a forklift driver is being given here for the convenience of all.
Sample Forklift Driver Job Responsibilities
- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to check and unload all the inbound trucks or shipments and move the commodities/ product to the respective storage place.
- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to ensure that all of the trucks/ shipments coming (going) are unloaded (loaded) properly and are damage free.
- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to conduct a check of the forklift truck every day as required by the Health and Safety Departments. The check should be conducted before the shift.
- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to prepare and manage all the records for the inventory control and security reasons.
- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to check all the equipments used in the transportation, stacking and managing of the goods besides the truck.

- It is the responsibility of a forklift driver to help in maintaining and cleaning the warehouse. He is also responsible for taking security measures i.e. for the security of the warehouse and the goods.
